Ms. Brown is a well-recognized leader in the field of Immigration Law practice and to the cause of justice. She received the coveted AV rating, and has received numerous awards including:
- The Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Volunteer Lawyers Program, Richard A. Teitelman, Distinguished Service Award
- The Women's Lawyers Association of St. Louis and the Women's Law Caucus at Washington University's School of Law award for "Outstanding Contributions to the Advancement of Women in Legal Education and in the Legal Profession."

Ms. Brown is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has twice served on the national Board of Governors, and as Chair of the Missouri-Kansas Chapter. She has previously served on AILA's Liaison Committee for the Nebraska Service Center of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and also as the Liaison for the St. Louis, Missouri field Office of USCIS. She is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri and Illinois (inactive), and is fully licensed to represent individuals and companies throughout the United States in front of the USCIS, the Department of Labor (DOL), the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Federal District Court of Eastern Missouri, and the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. She also mentors in three fields of immigration practice for AILA, and her law offices currently serve as a clinic site for Washington University School of Law, Civil Rights and Community Justice Clinic.

She is featured regularly in local publications and is a regular provider of Continuing Legal Education in the Immigration Law practice area.
