Martha Brown attended the University of Bath, Bath, England; the University of Vermont (B.A., 1976); and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (J.D. 1981). Ms. Brown has been practicing elder law for over 25 years and is a Certified Elder Law Attorney as certified by the National Elder Law Foundation*. She is a fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and founding member and past president of the Missouri Chapter. Ms. Brown speaks frequently on legal issues concerning the elderly and the disabled. She was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to the Disciplinary Committee, which oversees the ethical conduct of lawyers in the State of Missouri.

She is a member of the Missouri Bar including the Probate and Trust Committee, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP) of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Special Needs Alliance LLC, a national alliance of disability lawyers, the Alzheimer's Association and Member, Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyers since 2006. She serves as a Board Member for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program for Eastern Missouri, Association for Aging with Developmental Disabilities and the Mid-East Area Agency on Aging.

Her areas of concentration are Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate/Trust Administration, Guardianship/Conservatorship matters, Medicaid/Long-Term Care Planning, Veterans Benefits and Special Needs Trusts.
